1And these are the generations of Esav; this is Edom. 2And Esav took to himself wives of the daughters of the Kena’anites: Adah, the daughter of Elon the Hittite; and Oholibamah, daughter of Anah the son of Zibeon the Hivite; 3and Basemath, daughter of Yishma’el, sister of Nevayot. 4And Adah bore to him Eliphaz; and Basemath bore Reuel. 5And Oholibamah bore Jeush, Jalam, and Korah; these are the sons of Esav, which were born to him in the land of Kena’an. 6And Esav took his wives, his sons, his daughters, all the persons of his house, his possessions, his cattle, and all that he had acquired in the land of Kena’an; and Esav went forth from the land of Kena’an, away from the face of his brother Ya’akov. 7For their substance was too great for them to dwell together; and the land of their sojourning could not sustain them because of the abundance of their possessions. 8And Esav dwelt in Mount Se’ir; Esav, he is Edom. 9And these are the generations of Esav, the father of Edom, in Mount Se’ir. 10And these are the names of the sons of Esav: Eliphaz, the son of Adah, wife of Esav; and Reuel, the son of Basemath, wife of Esav. 11And the sons of Eliphaz were Teman, Omar, Zepho, Gatam, and Kenaz. 12And Timna was a concubine of Eliphaz, son of Esav; and she bore Amalek to Eliphaz. These are the sons of Adah, wife of Esav. 13And these are the sons of Reuel: Nahath, Zerah, Shammah, and Mizzah. These were the sons of Basemath, wife of Esav. 14And these are the sons of Oholibamah, daughter of Anah, wife of Esav: she bore to Esav Jeush, Jalam, and Korah. 15These are the Aluphim [chiefs] of the sons of Esav: the sons of Eliphaz, the firstborn of Esav — Aluph [chief] Teman, Aluph [chief] Omar, Aluph [chief] Zepho, Aluph [chief] Kenaz, 16chief Korah, chief Gatam, chief Amalek. These are the chiefs of Eliphaz in the land of Edom; these are the sons of Adah. 17And these are the sons of Reuel, son of Esav: chief Nahath, chief Zerah, chief Shammah, chief Mizzah. These are the chiefs of Reuel in the land of Edom; these are the sons of Basemath, wife of Esav. 18And these are the sons of Oholibamah, wife of Esav: chief Jeush, chief Jalam, chief Korah. These are the chiefs of Oholibamah, daughter of Anah, wife of Esav. 19These are the sons of Esav, and these are their chiefs; Esav is Edom. 20And these are the sons of Se’ir the Horite, who inhabited the land: Lotan, Shobal, Zibeon, Anah, 21Dishon, Ezer, and Dishan. These are the chiefs of the Horites, the sons of Se’ir, in the land of Edom. 22And the sons of Lotan were Hori and Hemam; and Lotan’s sister was Timna. 23And these are the sons of Shobal: Alvan, Manahath, Ebal, Shepho, and Onam. 24And these are the sons of Zibeon: Aiah and Anah — this is the Anah who found Yamim [hot springs/warm waters] in the wilderness, as he pastured the donkeys of his father Zibeon. 25And these are the children of Anah: Dishon — and Oholibamah was daughter of Anah. 26And these are the sons of Dishon: Hemdan, Eshban, Ithran, and Cheran. 27And these are the sons of Ezer: Bilhan, Zaavan, and Akan. 28And these are the sons of Dishan: Uz and Aran. 29These are the chiefs of the Horites: chief Lotan, chief Shobal, chief Zibeon, chief Anah, 30chief Dishon, chief Ezer, chief Dishan. These are the chiefs of the Horites, according to their clans, in the land of Edom. 31And these are the Melakhim [kings] who reigned in the land of Edom, before any Melekh [king] reigned over the children of Yisra’el. 32Bela son of Beor reigned in Edom; the name of his city was Dinhabah. 33And Bela died; and Yovav son of Zerah of Bozrah reigned in his stead. 34And Yovav died; and Husham of the land of the Temanites reigned in his stead. 35And Husham died; and Hadad son of Bedad, who defeated Midian in the field of Moav, reigned in his stead; the name of his city was Avith. 36And Hadad died; and Samlah of Masrekah reigned in his stead. 37And Samlah died; and Shaul of Rehoboth by the river reigned in his stead. 38And Shaul died; and Baal-Hanan son of Achbor reigned in his stead. 39And Baal-Hanan son of Achbor died; and Hadar reigned in his stead; the name of his city was Pau, and his wife’s name was Mehetabel, daughter of Matred, daughter of Mezahab. 40These are the names of the chiefs of Esav, according to their clans, places, and nations: chief Timna, chief Alvah, chief Jetheth, 41chief Oholibamah, chief Elah, chief Pinon, 42chief Kenaz, chief Teman, chief Mibzar, 43chief Magdiel, chief Iram. These are the chiefs of Edom, according to their dwelling places in the land of their possession; Esav is the father of Edom.
